  24. I recently read that you were using an ISDN line to your home to communicate
  25. with office machines and others.  How did you get this line run (what
  26. area of country do you live in (i think not usa?) costs involved are high/low.
  27. any extra information you could provide would be appreciated.

  35. My home is in the Bell Atlantic region, Maryland to be exact.  Work is located
  36. in Washington DC, about 25 miles away.  The ISDN service is using SS7 to work
  37. through a number of intra-office switches in the region.  The actual test
  38. involves, so far, three home residential ISDN lines. Two are located in
  39. Maryland, one in Virginia.  Because all the switches in this area are AT&T 5Es
  40. we are able to use combined B channels.  The cost of the services are just now
  41. being tariffed in this area.  I understand some changes will be coming out on
  42. the data use of the lines later.  Bell Atlantic will start to sell data use in
  43. blocks of 25 hours for a certain amount. Right now its free, or included in the
  44. monthly cost of the lines.  The Monthly cost is around $35 per month for the
  45. two B channels. Installation costs are high, in the hundreds of dollars.
